Microsoft doesn’t just prominently highlight the gaming prowess of the Xbox One. It routinely reminds us how this console is better at providing various entertainment options as well, with features like OneGuide which allows Xbox One owners to navigate and watch shows using voice commands. For this very reason the Xbox One has been honored with an Emmy Award.

The award was presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at the 66th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards. The event was conducted as part of the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Xbox One has received an Emmy Award for Television Enhancement Devices. It was selected in this category because of television-on-demand and media center features. Other nominees and recipients included Apple, Sony, Roku and TiVo.

In a post on the Xbox Wire, Microsoft says that it is “in good company” with fellow award recipients, and that the company is “proud to be awarded this honor” by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

That’s one trophy that Microsoft will have on its shelf that the PlayStation 4 from Sony doesn’t have, even though Sony’s console has outperformed Xbox One in terms of sales, up till now over 18.5 million units of the PlayStation 4 have been sold globally.
