apple watch

Apple took a very ambitious step by launching a model of its first-generation smartwatch that’s fashioned out of pure 18-karat gold. No other smartwatch manufacturer has done this before, but then again the company wants people to view the Apple Watch as more of a fashion accessory than just a wearable device. Obviously the use of a precious metal means the price is high, very high, and if you want to take yours back for a refund keep in mind that it will go through strict scrutiny before you’re issued a refund.

9to5mac reports that while the return timeframe will be 14 days like it is with most Apple products, the return process will be quite different as the smartwatch will go under micro-inspection.

Customers won’t be able to return the Apple Watch Edition at any of the company’s retail stores. Only those stores that are selling it in the first place will be able to accept returns.

First a member of the floor staff will visually inspect the Apple Watch Edition to ensure that it’s in good condition and has not been engraved or cracked.

Then an allocated member from the Genius Bar will scrutinize the smartwatch with special tools that include microscopes and a gold weight scale to ensure that gold hasn’t been removed from the watch.

Only Apple Store managers will be allowed to process returns for the Apple Watch Edition units and they can only do that once the Genius Bar member approves the unit.

Before you go out to return an Apple Watch Edition, you might purchase an Apple Watch Edition, and that costs more than $10,000.
