It became clear last month that Samsung will introduce more devices to carry the Galaxy A series forward as the company applied for trademarks on the Galaxy A6, A8 and A9 monikers. As per a new report today the Galaxy A8 is already in the pipeline and the handset’s specifications have also been leaked.

Apparently the Galaxy A8 will be released only in China initially, this according to the folks at Sammobile, and the possibility exists that Samsung might bring the device to additional markets later.

The scribe claims that this is going to be the “most feature-packed” mid-range smartphone from Samsung and may very well be the first non-flagship Galaxy branded device to tout a 16 megapixel rear camera.

The Galaxy A8 will reportedly have a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 615 processor under the hood coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.

A 5 megapixel front and 16 megapixel rear camera are also said to be onboard with 3,050mAh battery, the entire package will run on Android 5.0.1 and presumably the latest TouchWiz UI that Samsung debuted with the Galaxy S6.

The Galaxy A8, with 4G LTE support, might be unveiled in a couple of months, in China initially. Pricing is not known at this point in time.
