Smart suitcases aren’t exactly new. We have seen some efforts in the past, and just a couple of months ago Samsung and Samsonite teamed up to create a line of smart suitcases as well, so basically there are plenty of options that one can choose from. However if you’re looking for more options, perhaps the Space Case 1 might be of interest to you.

The Space Case 1 is another smart suitcase and it appears to pack the same features that we have seen in previous suitcases, along with some added features as well. For starters it will come with a lock that can be opened using your fingerprint. There is a built-in tracker so you can keep tabs on your suitcase to see where it goes in case the airlines has lost it.

There is also a proximity sensor so that when it leaves your side after a certain range, you will be alerted which might be handy if you’re particularly forgetful, or if someone tries to make off with it. There is a built-in speakerphone, a digital self-scale, a power bank to charge your devices with, and a personal concierge.

It certainly sounds like one heck of a suitcase and if this is something you are interested in, head on over to its Kickstarter page to learn more. The campaign has managed to raise close to $200,000 at this time of writing which is 400% of its original goal of $50,000. With 24 days to go we reckon it should have no problems going further than that.
