A lot of things that we see online are merely a snapshot of reality. This is why many have advised that we shouldn’t always buy into photos we see posted on social media, because as glamorous as some photos look, we don’t really know what goes on behind the scenes and it might not necessarily be the whole truth.

In fact, this is something that YouTuber and Instagram influencer Natalia Taylor has proven in a recently uploaded video, where she managed to trick her followers into thinking she was on a luxurious trip in Bali, but the twist is that all her photos were actually taken inside of an IKEA store.

According to Taylor, “It’s been said that life on the Internet isn’t always what it seems. Especially in today’s day and age where it’s so easy to pretend to be anyone you want to be. And today, I’m putting that to the test to see if I can fake an entire vacation by posting false photos and Instagram stories.”

It’s actually a rather convincing “prank” and what’s a bit worrying is that many of her followers seem to have bought into it, where no one really questioned her whereabouts. It just goes to show that maybe we should start being a bit more skeptical, or at least when we see things online, maybe don’t take it at face value.
