spotify_taste_rewindHave you ever wondered if this was maybe 10-20 years ago, what kind of music would you have enjoyed and what your playlist might have been? For those who are curious, you might be interested to learn that Spotify has launched a new interactive website dubbed Taste Rewind. As the name suggests, this will take you back in time as far as music is concerned.

First users will have to log into the website using their Spotify account (you’ll have to create one if you don’t have one already). After that users will need to select from a list of artists they currently listen to, and based on that the algorithm will attempt to find songs of similar genre and style that you would have enjoyed back in the day.

The playlist will contain songs from the 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, 1970s, and the 1960s. Personally I’m not sure if the algorithm did a good job of finding music that I might like, but it is a nifty feature that you might find useful. For those who are on the lookout for “new” music this would also be a good way of discovering them, especially if going back to the 1960s and 1970s isn’t something you would normally look for on Spotify.

In any case if you have some time to spare and want to discover more music that aren’t necessarily from this decade, perhaps Taste Rewind might be a feature worth checking out.
