apple watch rashLast year, owners of Fitbit’s products complained that their wearables were causing them skin irritations. It looks like the issue might not be isolated to Fitbit because according to a compilation of user complaints by Cult of Mac, it seems that Apple Watch owners are also complaining that their device is causing them skin irritations, such as rashes.

There have been numerous complaints over the past few months where users have uploaded photos onto social media, showing off the rashes that they’ve gotten after wearing their device. In fact in some instances, it seems bad to the point where there might potentially be laser burns, although chances are this is a rare situation in which the hardware might be defected.

Now there is a good chance that these rashes could have been caused by either wearing it for too long or wearing it too tightly. Both companies in the past have advised users to ensure that they have the correct fit when purchasing their products. Having it too tight will cause friction which in turn will lead to skin irritation.

It could also trap dirt and water which in turn could also lead to rashes. Granted these wearables are meant to be worn constantly, but taking them off to clean and to let your skin breathe every now and then might be a good idea. In the meantime have any of our readers been similarly affected by these irritations ever since they started wearing fitness bands or smartwatches?
