Thinking about doing your part for the environment? If you are, then you know that cutting back on the amount of non-renewable energy you consume is one way to do that, and if you are looking for a greener way of charging your phone, the infinityPV HeLi-on charger might be a Kickstarter project worth looking at.

This is a solar charger designed for mobile devices, and while there are plenty of solar charging options for your smartphone and tablet, safe to say that not many of them will be as portable as the HeLi-on charger which can be rolled up and slipped into your pocket without any issue, as you can see in the video above.

At its core, the HeLi-on is a battery pack for your phone, however because it comes with a roll-out solar panel, it means that you can use the power of the sun of charge it when it is depleted. This is unlike most power banks where you still need to charge it the normal way by plugging it to your computer or a wall outlet.

The battery built into the HeLi-on is 2,600mAh which means for the most part, it should have no problems charging most phones up to 100% on a single charge. The solar panel is rated at 3 watts and will take 2-3 hours to fully recharge itself under the sun. The HeLi-on will be priced at $90 ($85 for early birds) and is expected to begin shipping out to backers come July 2016.
