Twitter is a great source for real-time news and photo sharing is a big part of that, even users themselves share photos via Twitter, so it’s an integral part of the Twitter experience now. The microblogging network today announced that it’s making a significant update to the photo sharing experience, this time around it’s making the timeline more immersive by uncropping photos so that they can be viewed as they were meant to be viewed.

Twitter constantly refines the media experience and this latest update is merely an extension of that job, previous updates to the media experience have included the arrival of autoplaying video and the Moments feature that has completely been designed around visual media.

Large and “more beautiful” multi-photo displays have also been introduced which will bring out more of each photo. Moreover, users will find their timelines to be more immersive since photos will be uncropped.

Twitter’s change for multi-photo layouts comes merely days after Facebook launched media collages for users, it allows them to resize each tile as they would on the standalone Instagram app called Layout. The idea with these changes is that to improve the overall media experience so as to improve user engagement and put the spotlight on the content they care about the most.
