samsung led cover caseThe rumors are saying that in February, we can expect Samsung to officially announce the Samsung Galaxy S7 and its variants. How true are those claims? It’s really anyone’s guess, but in the meantime it looks like some evidence has surfaced to suggest that the phone (or phones) could be launched soon.

This is according to a recent sighting at the FCC (via Galaxyclub.nl) in which LED cover cases for the Galaxy S7 and its variants were spotted. Just in case the name itself wasn’t obvious, these are cover cases that will display information on the front of the case, meaning that users won’t need to flip it open to see certain types of information on their phone.

Such an accessory was launched for the Galaxy Note 4, but hopefully these cases will be more functional than its predecessor. Interestingly enough the FCC listing has suggested that the cases spotted were for the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge. There was no mention of whether or not there would be cases for other potential variants, like the Galaxy S7 Edge+, or the Galaxy S7+.

That being said, the sighting of these cases is by no means a guarantee that the phones will be launched soon, but why bother certifying them if you’re not planning to launch them soon, right? Either way we guess we’ll just have to wait until MWC 2016 which kicks off next month for the official details, if there are any to be had.
