samsung logoBased on history and how Samsung has been going about naming their devices, we suppose it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the company’s next-gen flagship will be called the Galaxy S7. However in case you wanted more “confirmation”, @evleaks has confirmed the names in a post on Twitter.

According to his post, he has “confirmed” that the next-gen flagships will be called the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and the Galaxy S7 Edge+. The Galaxy S7 Edge will basically be the Galaxy S7 with curved displays, and the Edge+ model will be the bigger version of the S7 Edge. What’s missing from this list is the Galaxy S7 Plus, which last we heard is another rumored variant.

That being said as far as specs are concerned, the rumors are pretty much all over the place right now. However just recently AnTuTu benchmarks revealed the alleged specs of the Galaxy S7 Edge and it suggested that the phone would sport a 5.1-inch display, smaller than last year’s model which was at 5.7-inches.

This is a drastic reduction in size, but it could also allow the Galaxy S7 Edge+ to fill that gap. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully the February announcement rumors are true so do check back with us next month where we might have more details for you guys.
