Let’s face it, a lot of us have terrible posture. It also does not help that many ergonomic chairs and tables out there are pretty expensive too. However if you’d like to help correct your posture and maybe get rid of the neck and lower back ache once and for all, there is a wearable by the name of ALEX that you might want to invest in.

ALEX is designed by a startup in Seoul, South Korea called NAMU. As you can see in the video above, it is worn hooked around your ears and it goes across the back of your neck. With its built-in sensors, it can detect when you might be sitting with bad posture, like your neck might be leaning too far forward.

So when it does detect bad posture, it will then vibrate to tell you that maybe it’s time to switch positions. There will be some leeway given as it will only vibrate after a minute, or up to 5 minutes after depending on your settings. The accompanying app will also let you adjust how long the vibrations last for, and what degree would constitute as poor posturing.

That being said, ALEX is definitely not the first of its kind, but if it appeals to you based on its functions, features, or its aesthetics, then head on over to its Kickstarter page to pledge your support to help make it a reality.
