Earlier this year it was reported that Microsoft was bringing its famed Word Flow keyboard to iOS although last we checked, the app still appeared to be in beta. The good news is that if you have been looking forward to getting your hands on the app, the wait is over because Microsoft has officially released Word Flow for iOS.

That being said we should note that as it stands, the app is only available in the US iTunes App Store, but we reckon that it should be released to other regions in due time. The app is free and in addition to bringing its core Word Flow features, the app will also come with other features such as customized backgrounds along with a one-handed mode.

For those who missed our earlier report, one-handed mode on Word Flow basically shifts the keyboard to one side of the phone and in a circular pattern. On paper it is supposed to help make typing with one hand easier, especially if you are using the larger iPhone 6/6s Plus, but we reckon that really comes down to personal preference.

Word Flow is a keyboard adapted from Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. While Windows Phone was never as popular compared to iOS or Android, if there is one thing Microsoft got right was with its virtual keyboard. It proved to be fast enough to set a world record for typing on a touchscreen, so if you’d like to check it out, hit up the iTunes App Store for the download.
