Movie adaptations of video games aren’t new. In fact very soon we will be able to watch the adaptation of the the Warcraft universe on the big screen, and here’s hoping it will be able to defy expectations, or at the very least destroy the notion that all movie adaptations of video games are bad.

That being said, we’re not sure what this trailer will do for that notion. It seems that someone has decided that maybe The Legend of Zelda should be turned into a movie, but not just any movie, but a modern day reimagining of the game with a Hong Kong crime drama feel attached to it, which we can’t decide if it is just insanely creative or just downright silly.

According to the description of the movie on its YouTube page, it reads, “Link quits the police force to search for Zelda, a key person to Ganon’s crime empire.” The movie is made by Filipino filmmaker Girard Tecson and will be published on Dayside Productions’ YouTube page come 5th of May for all to see.

In any case as the title of the video says, it is clearly a parody and isn’t meant to be a serious movie, but either way if you don’t mind watching it then do keep an eye out for its release tomorrow. In the meantime you can watch the (somewhat ridiculous) trailer in the video above.
