Ubisoft has confirmed that it’s working on a Star Trek VR game that’s going to be showcased tomorrow at the E3 2016 gaming convention. The new VR game is called Star Trek: Bridge Crew and it’s an interactive four-player experience that’s set in the JJ Abrams Star Trek universe where players can either be the captain, a member of tactical or engineering, or the helm officer on the Aegis starship.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is all about providing players with an immersive virtual reality experience. It will enable players to activate the warp drive in VR, scan objects in space, as well as display important information on the “viewscreen” in the game.

Players will tackle missions in the game which will be both randomly generated as well as focused on a greater storyline. The game will be about how players and their crew approach situations so players can either try the Kirk approach or be more methodical, says David Votypka, creative director at Red Storm which is leading development on this game.

Ubisoft is going to reveal more information about this Star Trek VR game at E3 2016. A precise release date has not been provided but it has been said that Star Trek: Bridge Crew is going to be released for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive this fall.
