Ubisoft has been putting out Assassin’s Creed games on a fairly regular basis. The company initially released the game on an annual basis, but later changed it to be slightly more irregular, but it is still one of their flagship franchises so it’s really a matter of when the next game will be launched, rather than if.

That being said, for those who are looking forward to the next Assassin’s Creed title, following a leak on Bloomberg, Ubisoft has since come forward to confirm and announce the next game, which will be known as Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The announcement did not say when the game will be released or what we can expect, but according to the leak, it will be a live service game.

This means that instead of Infinity being a one-off title focusing on single-player, Ubisoft could be adopting a similar approach that Rockstar did with GTA 5 when they introduced GTA Online. So instead of a one-and-done kind of game, Infinity is expected to feature multiple connected settings that will look and play differently that can be expanded over time.

This is what has helped keep the GTA franchise relevant all these years even though GTA 5 is a pretty old title. According to Ubisoft, “Rather than continuing to pass the baton from game to game, we profoundly believe this is an opportunity for one of Ubisoft’s most beloved franchises to evolve in a more integrated and collaborative manner.”
