Microsoft finally rolled out the Windows 10 Anniversary Update yesterday. It’s the first major update for Windows 10 which was released on July 29th last year. The company did say that the update will soon be released for Windows 10 Mobile as well but did not provide a confirmed release date in the blog post announcing the Anniversary Update’s release. One of the company’s official Twitter accounts has revealed the release date.

As per Microsoft’s official Twitter account for India, the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update is going to be released on August 9th. This means that those who own compatible handsets will be able to get their hands on the first major update in the coming week.

Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update brings a lot of new features and improvements to compatible devices. Features include a new panorama option in the Windows Camera app, an improved lock screen, better Cortana, a faster and more reliable web browser, and more.

Also included in this update is a new Skype app for Windows 10 Mobile. It happens to be the same universal Skype app that’s available for the desktop version of Windows 10. Microsoft Wallet is a new app that comes with this update, it enables contactless payments on Lumia 650, Lumia 950, and Lumia 950 XL.
