apple-watch-2-swimmingFor some reason, Apple has yet to share the official figures of the Apple Watch units sold. We’re not sure if it’s because it’s lower than everyone expects, or Apple just wants to keep an air of mystery around them. What this means is that for the most part, we’ve had to rely on analysts and external data sources to get an idea of how well the device is doing.

That being said, it seems that Apple is pretty confident about its latest Apple Watch Series 2 because according to reports out of Taiwan, apparently Apple believes that they can ship at least 2 million units because that’s how many components worth that they have ordered from their suppliers in the month of August and September.

The report reads, “Apple has increased chip and component orders for its new Apple Watch Series 2 products with monthly shipment volumes for August and September both surpassing two million units.” However like we said, Apple has yet to share the official sales figures so we can’t say for sure how accurate these reports are.

However so far from what we can tell, the Apple Watch has been doing pretty well. Fitbit is still leading the way in terms of wearables in general, but in terms of smartwatches, IDC has revealed that Apple is still commanding the lion’s share of the market at 47% in Q2 2016, with Samsung trailing behind at 16%.
