Screen burn-ins is something that can happen from time to time, and this is rather unfortunate as sometimes in some situations, there is no fixing it and you will either have to pay to send your display in for repair, or buy a new one. Samsung seems to believe that they have solved this problem with their SUHD Quantum Dot TVs.So much so that the company has announced that they will be providing lifetime guarantees against screen burn-ins because they are so confident that it will not happen. According to Dave Das, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics America, “We strive to deliver the best technology and picture quality with our televisions. This lifetime screen anti-burn-in guarantee is a testament to the confidence we have in our television line up and our commitment to our consumers that they will enjoy their 2016 SUHD Quantum Dot TV for years to come.”
For customers who are unlucky enough to be on the receiving end of a burn-in on their 2016 SUHD Quantum Dot TVs, Samsung has promised to either repair or replace the model for free. However it should be noted that this guarantee only applies to those who purchase a 2016 SUHD Quantum Dot 8 or 9 series TV in the US. It is not mentioned if customers in other parts of the world will eventually receive the same lifetime guarantee, but for now it looks like it only applies to those in the US.
