owcdockWith the launch of the new MacBook Pro, Apple addressed one of the criticisms of the 12-inch Retina MacBook, which was that there was only one USB-C port provided, by giving the MacBook Pro four USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports. However this still meant that users with USB-A devices still had to buy adapters.

If you’d rather not shop around for multiple adapters, you might be interested to learn that the folks at OWC have recently announced their 13 port Thunderbolt 3 dock which was designed for the new MacBook Pro in mind. Like we said it comes with a whopping 13 ports that will allow users to connect all kinds of legacy devices and peripherals to it.

According to OWC, it will feature two Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports, five USB-A 3.1 Gen 1 ports with support for USB-A accessories, and two of which feature fast charging capabilities for charging the iPhone or iPad. There is also a FireWire 800, Gigabit Ethernet, mini DisplayPort, an SD Card reader, an audio port that supports both headphones or microphones, and an S/PDIF digital audio port.

Unfortunately this dock does not come cheap as it is priced at $279. Pre-orders are currently being accepted and it is expected to be released come February, 2017.
