Following recent product rollouts, Apple has updated its 14-inch MacBook Pro with the new M6 processor. The refreshed laptop delivers a 30 percent improvement in graphics performance alongside a 25 percent boost to artificial intelligence workloads compared to the previous M5 model, while maintaining a battery life of up to 24 hours.

The internal M6 chip features a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU with dedicated Neural Accelerators in each core, a dual 16-core Neural Engine, and faster unified memory bandwidth. According to Apple, the upgraded architecture makes the Neural Engine 1.9 times faster, accelerating tasks like image generation, super resolution, and upscaling. When running large language models, the machine offers up to 1.3 times faster time-to-first-token performance, alongside 1.3 times faster rendering speeds in Blender.

Base configurations start with 16GB of unified memory, with optional upgrades to 24GB or 32GB available. Storage configurations begin at 1TB and scale up to 2TB or 4TB. Additional display features include a Liquid Retina XDR display with up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness, a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, and an optional nano-texture glass finish for $150 to reduce glare. The Space Black color option also includes a specialized anodized coating designed to minimize fingerprint visibility.

Connectivity options have been modernized to include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, alongside physical ports such as HDMI, MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 slots, an SDXC card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, users seeking a larger portable workstation will note that the 16-inch MacBook Pro variants still rely on previous-generation M5 Pro or M5 Max silicon.

The new 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 and is available in Space Black and Silver. Pre-orders begin on October 28, with official retail availability scheduled to launch on November 6.
