Technical glitches have often been blamed for unusual suspension of accounts on Twitter but it’s amusing when that happens to the man who runs the company itself. Twitter actually suspended its own CEO’s account by mistake. CEO Jack Dorsey‘s account displayed a “the account you are trying to view has been suspended” error message for about 15 minutes until the problem was sorted out and his account was brought back online again.

According to reports, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s profile @jack started displaying the aforementioned error message around 6 pm PT. It wasn’t immediately evident why this had happened but many users took note and they obviously cracked jokes about it.

I mean it’s not really common to see the CEO of a social media platform being suspended from the very platform that they steer day in and day out. Even though Dorsey’s account is back online the company hasn’t really revealed what caused the suspension in the first place.

Dorsey shrugged off the episode by tweeting a reference to his very first twitter from the early days of the microblogging network. His tweeted add that the “account suspension was an internal mistake.” No explanation has been offered but I’ll certainly want to find out what caused this to happen.
