facebook_whatsapp_icons-1Video calling is a feature that has been “missing” from WhatsApp. The app got video calling earlier so it made sense that video calling would be next. We knew that the feature was in the works as it was spotted in the Android beta last month, and the good news is that the wait is over as WhatsApp has finally made the feature available to all.

According to WhatsApp, “We’re introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren’t enough. There’s no substitute for watching your grandchild take her first steps, or seeing your daughter’s face while she’s studying abroad. And we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.”

Now if you were to fire up your WhatsApp and don’t see the video calling feature, not to worry because it seems like the feature is being rolled out in stages, so if you don’t see it yet, perhaps give it a day or two and hopefully it should reach you by then. According to WhatsApp, this feature will be enabled on all platforms its app is available on, meaning iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
