WhatsApp has begun rolling out its complete Liquid Glass redesign to iPhone users, introducing a unified visual interface across the messaging platform. Previously restricted to primary tabs and chat lists, the translucent aesthetic now extends across core conversational elements, including the typing bar, the top navigation bar, message bubbles, and context menus.
Under this updated aesthetic, the input bar floats over active conversations with a frosted translucent background that dynamically reflects underlying content, mirroring the visual presentation of Apple iMessage. At the top of the display, the transparent navigation bar allows the chat wallpaper and scrolled text to subtly show through as users navigate their message history.
The Liquid Glass update also refines contextual interactions inside individual chats. Long-pressing any chat bubble now summons the reaction tray and secondary action menus with a polished glass finish, preserving background visibility rather than obscuring it with the legacy opaque blur effect. Additionally, the message bubbles feature noticeably rounder corners, while shared multimedia elements—including photos and videos—are rendered borderless without traditional framing.
According to WABetaInfo, Meta is deploying this interface overhaul as a phased rollout, gradually expanding availability to all compatible iOS devices through standard App Store updates.
