xbox-oneAt the start of the Xbox One’s lifecycle, it seemed as though Microsoft would be having an insanely tough time trying to keep up with the PS4. Not only was it more expensive, but also judging from how developers released their games for both platforms, it was also clear that the PS4 seemed to yield better results in terms of performance.

However in a few years that has all changed. While Microsoft has yet to officially reveal how many Xbox One units they’ve sold so far, it seems that they are doing quite well because according to the numbers from the NPD Group and Gfk Entertainment, the Xbox One has managed to outsell the PS4 for the fourth month in a row.

We’ve been hearing of the Xbox One’s streak way back in August and we had to admit that we were a bit skeptical. However the months came and went with Microsoft continuing to dominate. Some have speculated that this is because gamers were holding out for the PlayStation VR, the PS4 Slim, and also the PS4 Pro which has recently been released.

This should make next month’s report rather interesting. However we should remind gamers that Microsoft also has their answer to the PS4 Pro which should be launching next year, but whether or not it will be too late remains to be seen as the PS4 Pro would have already had a pretty long head start.
