ps4-remote-play-780x439There was at some point in time where Sony thought that combining features of the PSP and a mobile phone was a good idea. This resulted in a device called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play in which there were certain games that were exclusive to it. However this experiment ended rather quickly, but it seems Sony’s ambitions for mobile games is still alive and well.

According to a report from Reuters, Sony revealed that they have 10 mobile gaming titles that they are working on, and that at least 6 of them will be released in 2017. We’re not sure what those 10 titles are, but Sony has revealed that some of them are Hot Shots Golf, Wild Arms, PaRappa the Rapper, and Arc The Lad. They are expected to debut in Japan followed by other Asian countries, but there was no mention of whether it will find its way stateside.

If this sounds familiar, it is because back in October Sony announced a similar plan and the latest report reveals additional details. Sony’s move shouldn’t really come as a surprise considering that Nintendo themselves are doing the same. So far Nintendo has released Miitomo as its first mobile title, with Super Mario Run planned for the 15th of December (Android version coming in 2017).

It also seems that the huge success of Pokemon GO by Niantic is also what has inspired Sony’s desire to start creating mobile titles again. Will Sony’s efforts be successful? We’ll just have to wait and see, but in the meantime are there any specific PlayStation titles you’d like to see ported onto mobile?
