apple_watch_brickThe thing about updates is that for the most part, they are designed to offer up improvements for the user in terms of stability and bug fixes. However once in awhile, an update can sometimes do the opposite and do more harm than good, like in the latest watchOS 3.1.1 that apparently caused some Apple Watch devices to brick.

So much so that Apple has since been forced to pull the update. This means that if you did not update your device yet, you will probably have to wait until a fix is released. For those who have updated and your device is doing just fine, we guess you’ll just have to keep a close eye on it to ensure that nothing untoward happens.

In case you’re wondering what the problem was, some users have reported seeing a red exclamation mark on their watch and a message directing them to Apple’s support page. The website doesn’t say what the problem is, but it tells users how to reset their devices in the event that the red mark appears.

However according to AppleInsider, the method prescribed by Apple did not seem to work for some users and they were left with no choice but to take it into the store. No word on when the fix will be arriving, but hopefully it will be soon.
