cleer-next-headphones[CES 2017] Headphones are so varied due to the different needs by different users. Some might want a cheap pair of headphones just for exercise, while others might want a pair of noise-cancelling headphones for use on the plane. Some might need headphones to DJ or edit music, while some want headphones purely for music listening.

If you consider yourself something of an audiophile, then you might be interested to learn that Cleer has announced the NEXT headphones at CES 2017, a pair of headphones that they are claiming is aimed at audiophile users. The headphones will feature 40mm ironless magnesium drivers, a circumaural design for better passive noise isolation, leather earpads and headbands, and upgraded earpad foam that will help with noise isolation as well as comfort levels.

According to Cleer, “The ironless structure supports the voice coil in a perfectly focused magnetic field and delivers three musical benefits: low and constant inductance, suppressed distortion via reduced eddy currents, and the constant application of force through the diaphragm’s useful and extended range of movement.”

The NEXT headphones are also wired, which we guess is something that audiophiles are on the lookout for due to the belief that wireless headphones can degrade sound quality. That being said, these headphones won’t come cheap and are priced at $700.
