One of the features of many smartwatches is the ability for users to swap out the current band for a different one. This comes in handy if you want to use the watch for sports and you need something more water/sweat resistant, and later you want to use the watch for a formal event so something with a metal/leather finish would be ideal.

Unfortunately for the LG Watch Sport that was recently announced, don’t expect to be able to swap out its bands anytime soon. As discovered by the folks at Android Police, it seems that in a bid to cram as many features into the watch as possible, LG had to make some concessions and one of those concessions involved putting some of its hardware components outside of the body of the watch.

This would come in the form of the watch’s wireless antennas which is why the bands on the LG Watch Sport are screwed into place, and while we guess technically you could unscrew them, it’s probably not the best idea. This means that swapping out the bands will not be be possible so you’ll have to decide if this is a style that you like because you’re more or less stuck with it.

It also means that in the event that the antennas or the band is damaged, repairing it and getting a replacement will be more costly, so that’s something else to take into consideration if you’ve been eyeing the LG Watch Sport.
