It has been rumored for awhile now that LG has a couple of smartwatches in the works. Given that LG and other Android Wear OEMs chose to pass on releasing new devices last year, we guess the release of new smartwatches this year shouldn’t be that surprising, and if you are curious about the watches, you’ll be pleased to learn that they are now official.

In an announcement on Google’s blog, both the LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport have been officially announced alongside Android Wear 2.0. Both watches will naturally come with Android Wear 2.0 preloaded onto them, which according to Google will come with more personalized and helpful watch faces, a better way to workout with Google Fit, more ways that users can respond to messages, and it also brings Google Assistant onto your wrist.

Out of the two watches, it seems that the LG Watch Sport comes loaded with more features. The LG Watch Style, based on Google’s description, sounds like a very typical smartwatch and nothing more. If you’re after something that is functional and aesthetically pleasing than the Watch Style might be for you.

However if you’re after more robust features, the Watch Sport could be a better choice as it comes with NFC that will help with mobile payments, GPS for tracking and navigational functionality, a heart rate sensor, cellular connectivity, and also dedicated buttons for Google Fit and Android Pay. Both the LG Watch Style and Watch Sport are expected to be made available come 10th of February, 2017.
