nintendo-logoLast year Nintendo revealed that their plans for mobile was to release 2-3 games a year. Recently during the company’s latest financials, Nintendo reiterated those plans in which they are aiming to release at least 2-3 mobile titles a year, so if you’ve enjoyed Nintendo’s mobile offerings to date, you can expect more this year.

As far as 2017’s releases are concerned, Fire Emblem Heroes has been confirmed to be one of them as it will be released on the 2nd of February. Assuming that the Android release of Super Mario Run, which is set for March, is counted as another title, it means that there could be at least 1 more game in the works for Nintendo’s mobile plans.

Animal Crossing was originally meant to be one of the games that they would be releasing on mobile this year, but the company has recently confirmed that the game will only be released in 2018. We’re not sure what’s with the massive 1 year delay for a mobile game, but unfortunately those are the cards we’ve been dealt with.

So far Nintendo’s mobile efforts have proved to be fairly successful. Super Mario Run has been downloaded more than 78 million times and apparently 5% of gamers who downloaded the game have paid to unlock it. With Fire Emblem Heroes set for a release tomorrow, we are curious as to how it will fare.
