One of the popular features of Snapchat is its “Stories”, which are basically short little video clips uploaded by users. This feature was later “stolen” and incorporated into Instagram, recently Facebook, and now according to @WABetaInfo, it seems that it could be finding its way onto WhatsApp as well.

If you’re wondering what the connection is, both Instagram and WhatsApp are owned by Facebook, so for Facebook to want to introduce similar features across the board wouldn’t exactly be a surprise. According to the tweet, this feature was spotted in the latest beta for iOS, although we’re not sure if it will be included in the final release.

We’re also not sure how this will work and whether or not it will be linked to a user’s Instagram/Facebook account, or if users will have to create separate stories just for WhatsApp. Given that WhatsApp isn’t exactly a social media app unlike Instagram or WhatsApp, it will be an interesting feature as the exact reach of your Stories will depend on the number of contacts, whereas Instagram Stories can be found based on your interests.

However like we said, we’re not sure if it will make the final release just because it has been spotted in the beta. It is possible that maybe it could take a while before it is released to the public (if at all), but in the meantime what do you guys think of this feature for WhatsApp?
