We’ve known since last year that Microsoft is developing an Xbox console codenamed Project Scorpio which is going to be the most powerful console it has ever created. The company is going to unveil more details about Project Scorpio in the coming months. According to a new report, retailer GameStop has been “impressed” by what Microsoft has shown it of the Project Scorpio so far.

This was revealed during GameStop’s recent financial earnings call in which the company’s Chief Operating Officer Tony Bartel said that the new Microsoft console is going to be very “gamer friendly.”

He also added that “Finally, we[re] impressed with [the] Microsoft Scorpio product.” GameStop is banking on Project Scorpio to drive revenues when it arrives in the holiday season this year.

Bartel was asked about why the retailer had such high hopes from Scorpio and if he could expand on the differences between the upcoming Xbox and the PlayStation 4 Pro, he said that Project Scorpio is “a very powerful system that’s really made for 4K,” and that the retailer sees it as a “very gaming centric, very, very powerful unit and so we do believe that there will be some great games that are made for this.”

Microsoft is expected to reveal more information about Project Scorpio during its E3 2017 press event in a few months. The console itself will be released around the holiday season.
