Mass Effect: Andromeda was a highly-anticipated title simply because the original Mass Effect trilogy was so well-received. However there were several problems during its launch that led to reviews that weren’t exactly stellar, and admittedly left fans wanting more. In fact recently it was confirmed that the game would no longer receive single-player updates.

So that begs the question of what’s going on with the franchise? While we suppose Andromeda might have been a bit of a hiccup, it looks like BioWare is still interested in developing the franchise in the future. This is according to a recent tweet by BioWare’s General Manager Casey Hudson in which he wrote, “Yes! I love #MassEffect too much to not want to work on it again in the future. Thanks for the support – it means everything to our team.”

Given how beloved the franchise is, we suppose it would have been a bit silly for BioWare to stop working on it, or for EA to not find someone else to make it either, but this tweet does seem reassuring for fans. However the question is when will we be seeing a new Mass Effect title? Last we heard BioWare had put the franchise on hold, presumably to regroup and rethink their strategy moving forwards, so maybe until we actually hear and see a new Mass Effect game launched, fans should probably not hold their breath.
