One of the popular iPhone 8 rumors is that the smartphone will introduce wireless charging to the iPhone lineup for the first time ever. At the moment it is unclear as to how Apple plans on implementing the feature, whether or not it’ll be something revolutionary or if we’ll be looking at a similar system to what’s being offered by Android handset makers.

While that remains to be seen, photos uploaded onto Weibo (via iClarified) allegedly show off components that are apparently that of the wireless charger that Apple will be selling to facilitate the iPhone 8’s wireless charging capabilities. It’s hard to tell based on the images alone, but it appears that they are circular in shape.

We’re not sure if this could result in a hockey puck-like wireless charger that we’ve seen other companies offer in the past, or if it could be part of a larger package. However these images do corroborate an earlier report that suggested that the iPhone 8 will require a separate accessory to charge wirelessly.

It has also been said that Apple will not be bundling the wireless charger together with the phone, and that customers are expected to purchase it themselves. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully the official details will be revealed next month.
