If you’re someone who regularly edits videos on their mobile devices, there’s a good chance that VSCO is part of your post-processing workflow. The app is pretty popular amongst smartphone owners for featuring a ton of filters as well as editing tools and functions that help create some pretty stunning effects.

However if you’re more of a video editor, then you might be pleased to learn that VSCO is now offering users the ability to edit videos via the same app as well. Unfortunately for users, just because you have the VSCO app on your phone doesn’t mean you can edit videos on it. Instead users are also required to be a VSCO X subscriber to access the feature.

For those unfamiliar, VSCO X is a $19.99 annual subscription that gives users access to premium features that regular VSCO users do not. It also gives users access to over 100 VSCO presets and advanced controls. According to the company, “VSCO’s mission is to help people become better creators, and video is a creative frontier we’re increasingly passionate about and focused on. Video editing for VSCO X members is a first step into what we see as limitless possibilities for video editing tools on VSCO.”

It is a bit of a pity that the features are being placed behind a paywall, but we should note that there are a ton of video editing apps out there that are free or are cheaper, so if you’d rather not pay an annual subscription, there will still be plenty of options available to you.
