The most powerful console that Microsoft has ever made is going to come out soon so the company has to ensure that there are enough titles that take full advantage of its amazing performance. The backward compatibility team at Microsoft is enhancing four Xbox 360 titles with Xbox One X-specific enhancements. The titles will thus be able to take proper advantage of the increased gaming prowess of the Xbox One X. It will be possible to play these titles in 4K.

The four titles that are receiving Xbox One X enhancements are already backward compatible on the Xbox One. They include Fallout 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Halo 3, and Assassin’s Creed.

Some of these titles have now been enhanced with 10-bit color depth as opposed to the 8-bit they had previously. The others have had HDR lighting enabled. It has also been said that all titles that have been enhanced for the Xbox One X have nine times the on-screen pixels as compared to before.

“It’s been genuinely startling to see how it looks [on Xbox One X],” said Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor. This means that future Xbox One X owners will be in for a surprise when they play the aforementioned titles on the new console.

Microsoft also announced recently that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is going to be enhanced for the Xbox One X. However, that won’t arrive until 2018.
