There is that popular saying where if something is too good to be true, it generally is. However we suppose sometimes a deal might be too good to pass up for some people, and a recent example took place in Wisconsin, where a woman thought she was getting a good deal for an iPhone 6, only to end up with a box of potatoes.

The story goes is that the woman claims to have seen a black truck with balloons and Black Friday sale posters driving around her neighborhood. She also claims that the vehicle was filled with various electronics, clothes, and accessories, and so she thought she had managed to land herself a pretty sweet deal when she managed to negotiate with the driver to sell her an iPhone 6 (or what she thought was the iPhone 6) for $100.

However she discovered when she got home and opened the box that inside was not a brand new iPhone 6 waiting for her, but a bunch of chopped potatoes that appeared to have already oxidized. To the woman’s credit, she did check that the box contained an iPhone 6 when she struck up the deal and even tested it out for herself.

It was when she agreed to purchase it that the driver did the old bait-and-switch and swapped out the working device with the potatoes. “He turns around and puts the phone in the box with a piece of paper, he hands it to me, I hand him the money, I get in my car and drive home.” For those interested in seeing the woman’s video where she’s essentially ranting about getting cheated, head on over to LiveLeak.com (warning: strong language used in the video).
