It has been several years since Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto 5, and if you were hoping to see Grand Theft Auto 6 in the near future, you might be in for a wait because according to a report from YouTube channel The Know, it seems that Grand Theft Auto 6 is only expected to arrive in 2021 or 2022.

In addition to revealing a possible release date, The Know also claims that the game is currently being worked on under the moniker “Project Americas”. It is also rumored that the game will be set in the US and South America, where players will be able to fly back and forth between the two regions, and will also see players return to Vice City.

We know that there is still several years until the game is released, but given how long it took for Grand Theft Auto 5 to come out, we guess it doesn’t really come as a surprise. Not to mention that with the introduction of GTA Online which helps extend the game’s playability and the constant churning out of new game modes, we guess Rockstar is hoping to milk Grand Theft Auto 5 for as long as they can.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but it isn’t a stretch to think that Rockstar would be done with the Grand Theft Auto franchise. However given that the game might only be released in the next 3-4 years, we have to wonder what kind of platforms it will support then.
