If you’re in the market for a new GoPro camera, it seems that you won’t have to wait much longer for an announcement because according to Nokishita Camera, an announcement is expected to be made on the 30th of March. This is in line with an earlier report by Photo Rumors who also claimed that we will be seeing an announcement towards the end of March.

That being said, not much is known about the camera for now. The tweet by Nokishita Camera links to this brochure uploaded online which mentions the GoPro HERO but there is no mention of the model number, unless GoPro plans on simply calling this camera the HERO. From what we can tell it looks like your standard GoPro camera which will feature a touchscreen display on its back.

However other than that, there is no mention of any other potentially new features, so we guess we’ll have to wait until the 30th of March to find out. In the meantime GoPro has recently announced that they will be licensing out their camera tech to other companies. This will result in GoPro licensed camera lenses and sensor modules that will be used in approved third-party GoPro products and accessories.

Presumably GoPro is expected to continue making its own branded cameras and accessories, but it will also be branching out in a bid to bring in a new source of revenue for the company.
