GIFs aren’t exactly new but they seem to be undergoing some kind re-emergence where we’re seeing their adoption in apps like Snapchat, Instagram, Messenger, and so on. Now it looks like dating app Tinder wants to get in on the GIF fun as well as they have announced a new feature that they are testing out called “Loops”.

This is a new feature that lets users add a two-second animation to their profile photo. According to Tinder, “Now we’ve got a whole new experience that’s really going to set your swipe game in motion: Tinder’s new two-second Loops, where you can take any video and create a loop from it.”

They add, “That’s right, you get two seconds of looping video to show more personality, which is the best way to get more right swipes. You can be flirty, you can be fun, but no matter what, be you. And be quick about it, because everyone who’s anyone will be showing off their moves. (Let’s face it; still photography is so last November.)”

However like we said, the feature is currently in testing which means that its availability is limited to those living in Canada and Sweden and only for iOS devices. We’re not sure if Tinder has plans to eventually make it available to all but it does sound like a fun feature that you might be able to look forward to in the future.
