It is well known that Samsung is working on a foldable smartphone that could be called the Galaxy X. However it turns out that might not be the case, according to a recent tweet by an industry leakster who claims that the phone will not be known as the Galaxy X. Unfortunately the tweet does not mention what the phone will be called, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

We have been hearing for a few years now that Samsung is indeed working on a foldable smartphone, and it seems that its launch keeps getting pushed back. What makes this phone so unique is that it will actually have a phone whose display is foldable. We’re not talking about two separate displays on a clamshell phone, but rather a phone with a display that can be folded and unfolded.

Samsung has been dabbling in flexible displays for a while and have kind of made it a mainstay feature on its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineups, where the edges of the phone feature a display that’s been folded over. Whether or not such a device will take remains to be seen, but the reports we’ve heard claim that this might be a limited run handset that could just be to test the market’s reaction.

Either way we might still have to wait a bit for more details as last we heard, the phone might only launch in 2019, so until then perhaps take it with a grain of salt for now.
