This urban Bike Rental Stand picked up an award at this year’s Spark Design & Architecture Awards, featuring one-way journeys with both drop off and pick-up points in different places all over a city. Each bike comes with an RFID chip that helps the company track and log journeys, and a small (but reasonable) fee applies to rent a bike. Springtime from Holland designed this eclectic system, and it would definitely work great for intra-city traveling. To date, several cities in the world have already implemented bike rental or free-bike schemes, and this Bike Rental Stand could help reduce operating costs. Hopefully the people who rent the bike will have the civic consciousness to return it in good condition!
