The Japanese seem to live an extremely automated life. Why do we say that? For starters, the ITS Promotion Council will be demonstrating its ITS-Safety 2010 (Intelligent Transportation System) that aims to help drivers get to their destination safer than ever before, reducing the chances of accidents happening with the help of some computing power. Some 30 vehicles have already been used in tests, and it will see participation from Japanese as well as overseas automakers. Both optical beacons and 5.8GHz band DSRC, 720MHz band wireless communication will be utilized in the following systems :-
