litl offers Easel netbook

A pretty obscure startup known as litl is readying its new Easel netbook that will come with a rare customized operating system, according to an FCC filing for the device. This 12″ system will offer a display that is more than capable of bending beyond the 180 degree mark while featuring a rounded, child-friendly look. Underneath the hood, users will find it run on a custom version of Linux alongside a “card” interface which enables users to choose from blue cards for core apps and settings, black channel cards for news, weather and other widgets, and white cards for Firefox pages. Hardware requirements are pretty rudimentary with 2GB of flash memory, 1GB RAM, HDMI video output, a webcam, Wi-Fi connectivity and an Intel Atom Z540 1.86GHz processor.
