Lenovo IdeaPad U series of ultraportables ready to rock and roll

Lenovo has got your back covered if you are going to shop for a netbook, as they have just introduced a new series of IdeaPad U ultraportables in the form of the U160, U460 and U460s. Looking not at all out of place regardless of where you pull either one of the three netbooks out, these devices will measure less than an inch thin, tipping the scales at just 3.8 pounds to make sure you won’t end up with a sore shoulder during those long business trips of toting it around. All three models in the U series will be equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to make sure you remain connected, although we would have preferred to see an optional 3G integrated modem thrown into the mix for added flexibility since there isn’t a Wi-Fi network available everywhere. Other user-care features include an Ambient Light Sensor that helps protect your eyes by adjusting its brightness level automatically, Active Protection System and data recovery tools. All three of the IdeaPad U160, U460 and U460s will hit the market from the beginning of next month onwards for $699 a pop – not exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for in this case (at least on paper) with a great design and decent horsepower.
