Apple Inductive Charging Concept For The Future
Could Apple secretly be admiring the Palm Touchstone charger from afar? While the fruity company isn’t offering any inductive charging accessories anytime soon, it has filed for a
patent for a multi-orientation dock that supports inductive charging. Currently when we dock our iPhone, the device will have to remain in a portrait position, as the iPhone’s connector is at the bottom. With inductive charging, Apple could allow users to easily dock their iPhone (or any supported device) in either a landscape or portrait mode, without having to worry about the connector. Another benefit of this design is that there are no contacts to wear out or oxidize.
