Canon Previews A 120-megapixel Camera Sensor
Canon has given us a little glimpse into the future of digital cameras with the world’s largest camera sensor, a 120-megapixel APS-H sized CMOS sensor that is about 7.5 times larger than the sensor in the EOS 1D Mark IV. With such a large sensor, it’s not too surprising that it’s capable of capturing images at 13280 x 9184 at a rate of up to 9.5FPS. It’s also capable of recording 1080p video with just 1/60th of its usable pixels. Canon hasn’t mentioned if it has decided to actually come up with a camera that uses a 120-megapixel sensor, but who knows what the future might hold?
