Rugged Notebooks Announces The Eagle Series Rugged Notebook

If you don’t like to follow the crowd and purchase a Panasonic Toughbook for your rugged outings, perhaps the Eagle series by Rugged Notebooks might be up your street. The company announced the Eagle series rugged notebook for public safety, military and other demanding work environments and will be priced from $1,695 onwards. The notebook meets the FBI user-authentication guidelines for computers accessing the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) data, and also features a biometric fingerprint reader and SmartCard (CAC) reader. Absolute Computrace is included in the BIOS for asset tracking and theft/loss recovery, enabling the notebook to be tracked in the event it has been lost or stolen, not to mention remotely deleting any or all information stored within. It also includes drop/shock/spill protection tested to the US military 810F and 810G standards, along with a rubber Guard Protection System to protect the LCD from shocks, as well as a lock on the optical drive to prevent accidental opening.
