HighNote: Free Rich Multi-Media Mobile Messaging

Another day, another free mobile messaging app… but I found this one really interesting from a user experience prospective. HighNote is launching today for the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android phones, and it offers a broad range of multi-media choices for communicating with friends and family. Jeanine LeFlore, Chief Marketing Officer, HighNote, showed me a demo: basically, you can add up to 2 pieces of different media to each slide – a slide is what you see in the iPhone screen – and a message can include up to nine slides!

Users can send maps, music, videos, photos, greetings and various audio files that they have recorded on the phone, additionally, they can arrange the order of the slides within a message using the slide sorter option (picture above). One of the best features is the possibility to include customized quick reply buttons, so the recipient can choose to respond using nine different media options at the click of a button, brilliant!
